Very interesting! We as a church do seem as though we are only concerned about what God can do for us and our household and I think that is so sad. But, the reason that we are that way is because of the type of leadership that we are under. If you have a pastor that preaches about prosperity and what God can do for you and always talks about when you give you will get, then we as Christians will be that way. That is why I am so grateful for these topics because it gives you an opportunity to think about things and to see if what is going on in your church or life actually measures up to the word of God. Scripture says test everything and hold on to that which is true.

As you always say, we have to deny ourselves DAILY. It can not be a one-time thing. If we don't, the flesh will always want more, bigger, and better, so we will always go to God and ask Him for more. We as Christians have to get to the point that it is not about us but it is about the plan that God has for our lives. And if we get in line with that plan, God will start to give us the desires of our hearts. And when He does it on His time, it is bigger and better than what we had in mind anyway.

The aspect of greed lies in the reason of why. When one can answer why is the desire there to wanting this or that, then the question of greed can be answered. Building your image, status, or prestige to impress yourself or others results in greed deriving from pride. Greed is the manifestation of the principality, pride. Asking Daddy for "stuff" should be the result of the desires of His heart. Many probably think I misquoted the scripture because it says "...the desires of thine heart." Read the first part, "Delight thyself in the Lord..." Delighting denotes loving so deeply that you surrender your desires for the one who is the object of your affection. In delightment, the desires of the one you love becomes your desires. So when you delight yourself in the Lord and you ask of Him for "stuff", it's His desires for you that arises in your heart.

This is possible. It's like the aspect of loving the person for what he/she brings and offers the relationship. As the mate walks in a confident manner, the insecurities and weaknesses of the other mate is magnified. This usually produces great jealously. Also during disputes, the mate that thinks about the union and not self attempting to bring reasoning will become the target of jealously by the mate that operates in selfishness. In other words, manifestation of light (love) will expose the deeds of a heart of darkness and the works of that heart.

This is a good subject. I am so happy for others when God blesses them, but I have learned that others are not as happy when the blessings comes my way. I find this very upsetting. I just over look their ways or comments and pray for them. About a year ago I learned that one of my sister was envious of me. This broke my heart. To this day we are not as close as we once were.

WOW!!! I have experienced this before. I was the person being envious. I (at some point) want to be married, and it always seems as though my relationships fall through due to whatever reason, but, I found myself saying that it was unfair that certain people were getting married and I even went so far as saying they didn't deserve it. Although it may have been true to a certain extent; I think I was more so saying it, because I was jealous and envious and wondering why it had not happened for me. God has shown me so much in the past year, that I know now that He has not forgotten about me. :-)

Walking in the Spirit
{GALATIANS 5:16-26 NKJV}
16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery,[c] fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders,[d] drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

i like what u said!! and i can agree.. i am married and have been for a short period of time.. but i do LUST after my husband alot and i feel that i should keep him happy behind closed doors. i try to see what he likes,even if it is watching movies, trying out new things.. there is nothing in the bible that explains what two married people should do, or how far to go when it is not consider "christian like". i think to many so called "saints" put to much into what GOD is saying.. and no we are not going to do everything correct. but GOD already knew this, but to lust after someone else that is married, now that is taking it to a different level. but i feel that if this is your mate there is NO LIMIT.. just make sure that you and your mate are trying to make each other happy.. i just feel that if more GODLY WOMEN would start to open there minds more when it comes down to there husband maybe there wouldnt be alot of breaks up in the home..

The subject is tremendous. The truth is this, there is nothing wrong for having lust. The point of the matter is what is the object of your lust. You will have lust as long as you have a body. Lust is natural. Lust alone is not sinful. Ungodly lust is sinful. The scriptures declares that the flesh lust against the spirit and spirit against the flesh. Excessive desire after a "what". The answer to the "what" determines whether it is sinful. Why can't we lust after the Lord and His presence. How is that sinful? We are to lust after him. The lover in Solomon which symbolizes going after His presence, demonstrates lusting after Him. We are to lust after Him and not after anything or anyone. Ungodly lust, which is excessive desiring, will soon become idolatry. Idolatry is sinful
