How much is enough before we stop asking God for more stuff and start asking what can we do for Him?

The aspect of greed lies in the reason of why. When one can answer why is the desire there to wanting this or that, then the question of greed can be answered. Building your image, status, or prestige to impress yourself or others results in greed deriving from pride. Greed is the manifestation of the principality, pride. Asking Daddy for "stuff" should be the result of the desires of His heart. Many probably think I misquoted the scripture because it says "...the desires of thine heart." Read the first part, "Delight thyself in the Lord..." Delighting denotes loving so deeply that you surrender your desires for the one who is the object of your affection. In delightment, the desires of the one you love becomes your desires. So when you delight yourself in the Lord and you ask of Him for "stuff", it's His desires for you that arises in your heart.

Very interesting! We as a church do seem as though we are only concerned about what God can do for us and our household and I think that is so sad. But, the reason that we are that way is because of the type of leadership that we are under. If you have a pastor that preaches about prosperity and what God can do for you and always talks about when you give you will get, then we as Christians will be that way. That is why I am so grateful for these topics because it gives you an opportunity to think about things and to see if what is going on in your church or life actually measures up to the word of God. Scripture says test everything and hold on to that which is true.

As you always say, we have to deny ourselves DAILY. It can not be a one-time thing. If we don't, the flesh will always want more, bigger, and better, so we will always go to God and ask Him for more. We as Christians have to get to the point that it is not about us but it is about the plan that God has for our lives. And if we get in line with that plan, God will start to give us the desires of our hearts. And when He does it on His time, it is bigger and better than what we had in mind anyway.
